{"id":1074,"date":"2017-12-15T12:02:32","date_gmt":"2017-12-15T18:02:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spicathedral.org\/school\/?page_id=1074"},"modified":"2017-12-15T12:19:14","modified_gmt":"2017-12-15T18:19:14","slug":"il-tcs-donor-information","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/spicathedral.org\/school\/il-tcs-donor-information\/","title":{"rendered":"IL TCS Donor Information"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><u>What is the process for donating?<\/u><\/h3>\n<div>Beginning on January 2, 2018, individual and corporate donors will be able to reserve tax credits through\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mytax.illinois.gov\/_\/\">mytax.illinois.gov<\/a>\u00a0by following these steps:<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<ol>\n<li>Set up an account at <a href=\"https:\/\/mytax.illinois.gov\/_\/\">mytax.illinois.gov<\/a>. This site will have the credit application on January 2.\n<ul>\n<li>How to request a letter ID\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>STEP 1: Log on to mytax.illinois.gov<\/div>\n<div>\u2022 If you already have an account, enter your username and password to verify<\/div>\n<div>\u2022 If you do NOT have an account, click on the word \u201cIndividuals\u201d (second rectangle from the left<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>STEP 2: Click on \u201cRequest a Letter ID\u201d; the first link in the \u201cMiscellaneous Section\u201d<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>STEP 3: Enter your Social Security Number and one of the following: an IL-PIN, 2016 Adjusted Gross Income, IL Driver\u2019s License Number, or IL State Identification Number.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>STEP 4: Click \u2018Submit\u2019 and enter and confirm your email address; then click \u2018ok\u2019 to submit and receive your confirmation.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div class=\"textLayer\">\n<div><\/div>\n<div>STEP 5: The Letter ID will be mailed to the address on your last year\u2019s tax return. You should receive it within<\/div>\n<div>7\u201310 business days.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>How to activate your my tax account.\n<ul>\n<li>Step 1: Log on to mytax.illinois.gov and go to &#8220;Sign Up Now&#8221; on the lower left<\/li>\n<li>Step 2: Select SSN and enter your Social Security Number and click submit: then click &#8220;Yes&#8221; to begin activating your account.\n<ul>\n<li>Enter your &#8220;Letter ID&#8221; and either your Individual PIN or your 2016 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI). If you choose your IL PIN click on the &#8220;Look up My IL PIN&#8221; and go to Step 3. If you choose your 2016 AGI go directly to Step 4.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Step 3: If you choose to look up your Individual IL PIN click on &#8220;Look Up My IL PIN&#8221;\n<ul>\n<li>Enter your Social Security Number and either your IL Driver&#8217;s License or your Adjusted Gross Income from 2016.<\/li>\n<li>Click &#8220;Conduct Inquiry&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Copy your IL PIN and then click &#8220;Back&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Step 4: Enter your Letter ID and your IL PIN and when the screen expands enter&#8230;\n<ul>\n<li>Your contact information<\/li>\n<li>A username and password<\/li>\n<li>A security question and answer<\/li>\n<li>Confirmation of your email and password; and then click submit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Step 5: Click &#8220;OK&#8221; when the next screen pop&#8217;s up and you will receive a confirmation that your account was activated.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Apply for a tax credit on <a href=\"https:\/\/mytax.illinois.gov\/_\/\">mytax.illinois.gov<\/a> as soon as the application is open on the website (approx. Jan 2nd). Donors will need to provide at least the following information (a complete list will be provided once available):\n<ul>\n<li>Social Security Number<\/li>\n<li>Personal (or company) name and contact information<\/li>\n<li>Name of SGO to which he\/she plans to donate (Note: The SGO of choice for the Diocese of Springfield is Empower Illinois)<\/li>\n<li>Amount he\/she plans to donate<\/li>\n<li>Region to which he\/she plans to donate (We are in Region 4)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Donate to an SGO within 60 days of application being approved (Note: The SGO of choice for the Diocese of Springfield is Empower Illinois).\n<ul>\n<li>Designate the donation to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception School.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Provide certificate from the SGO to use tax credit when filing a 2018 return in 2019.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div><u>Interested in donating?<\/u><\/div>\n<div>We are here to guide you through the process.
