Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Scholarship Application Form

The Cathedral Council of Catholic Women and the Knights of Columbus Council #16126 are offering scholarships to students who are (1) registered members of the Cathedral parish and (2) attending a Catholic high school or entering 7th or 8th grade at a Catholic grade school in the fall of 2019.

  • Scholarship funds are generated by parish events sponsored by the two organizations.
  • All applications are reviewed by the scholarship committee using the following weighted
    percentages:
    • 50% Parish service, participation, and mass attendance
    • 25% One Page Essay
    • 25% Teacher evaluations
  • Scholarship application packets may be picked up in the school office at all the Catholics grade schools in Springfield, the SHG office or in the Cathedral Rectory.
  • Return your completed Scholarship Application and essay to the Cathedral Rectory by noon Wednesday, May 15, 2019. There will be no exceptions.
  • All decisions of the committee are final. Notification of awards will be mailed by the committee.
  • If you are selected as a scholarship recipient, we will remit your scholarship funds directly to your school in August.

* Applications without all required information will not be considered for a scholarship.

The following materials must be submitted for your application to be considered:

  • Completed Application Form (must print in ink or type)
  • One Page Essay (must be typed)
  • Teacher Evaluations (2 teachers for current grade school students, 6-8)
    (2 teachers for current high school students)
    • Name of teacher & school
    • Name of teacher & school
  • Return your completed Scholarship Application and essay to the Cathedral Rectory by noon Wednesday, May 15, 2019. There will be no exceptions.
  • Teacher evaluations must arrive at the Cathedral Rectory by noon Wednesday, May 15, 2019.

Essay requirements

A one page typed essay must accompany your application. Please include the following information in your essay:

  1. Tell us about yourself.
  2. Explain how your faith is reflected in your daily activities.

Weekday Masses (unless noted differently in weekly bulletin)
Monday thru Friday – 7:00AM and 5:15PM
Saturday – 8:00AM

Reconciliation (Confessions)
Monday thru Friday – 4:15PM to 5:00PM
Saturday – 9:00AM to 10:00AM and 2:30PM to 3:30PM
Sunday – 4:00PM to 4:45PM

Adoration
Tuesdays and Thursdays – 4:00PM to 5:00PM
