Family of Faith

Family of Faith is the Cathedral parish whole family catechetical process. Parents attend a monthly workshop where they learn through teaching, discussion and activities while their children are participating in age-appropriate and fun activities. Then parents teach their children at home with lessons and activities that involve the whole family . Each month families come together for fun events to help them develop into a community of families who pray together, support each other, and live the life of discipleship together.

All adults of the parish are invited to attend the monthly teaching sessions, but special invitation is extended to parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, guardians, young couples preparing for marriage - anyone who has or will have responsibility for passing on the faith to children. This faith formation opportunity is open to parents of babies and toddlers and children in grades K-8. If you send your child to public school, Catholic school or you home school, this is the place for you!

We are excited to begin a new year with Family of Faith but want to move forward prudently. In September, Cathedral priests will make home visits to all our families to meet each other and talk about a parent's role in faith formation. They will also deliver all the books and resources we have for you this year. Please call if you know when you would like to schedule a visit, or you can wait for one of our priests to call you. Beginning in October, we will schedule monthly teaching meetings. Parents can spread throughout the atrium and children will meet with catechists in small groups. We will not be planning any community meetings until we can manage this safely.

Registration will be open throughout August. Please fill out the form below and a registration packet will be sent for you to complete. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to the Parish Office at 217-522-3342.
